(“Family Zone”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses and safeguards your personal information when you access or use the Family Zone mobile applications, the website located at family.zone, and any other products or services that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Services”). 4. How we use information

  1. Provide and maintain the Services — create accounts, sync data across devices, enable sharing within your family group.
  2. Personalise and improve the Services — remember preferences, suggest tasks, analyse trends and develop new features.
  3. Communicate with you — transactional emails, push notifications, marketing (with your consent), surveys and support.
  4. Process payments and prevent fraud — verify transactions, detect suspicious activity, enforce our Terms of Service.
  5. Comply with legal obligations — tax, accounting and regulatory requirements; respond to lawful requests.
  6. Protect vital interests — where we believe it is necessary to protect the safety of any person.

We may aggregate or de-identify information so that it can no longer reasonably identify you and use it for any purpose.

5. Sharing information

We never sell your personal information. We disclose it only:

  • Service providers — cloud hosting, analytics, customer support, payment processing, AI inference (e.g. OpenAI) and similar vendors under contract.
  • Other users you designate — family members you invite to your Family Zone “household” can see the content you share.
  • Third-party integrations you authorise — e.g. if you link Google Calendar we will share necessary data with Google and import selected events.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition or asset sale.
  • Law enforcement or regulators — when required by law or to protect rights, property or safety.
  • With your consent or at your direction — such as when you post content publicly.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies, SDKs, log files, pixels and similar technologies to recognise you, remember preferences, measure traffic and deliver relevant content. You can control cookies through your browser settings and opt-out of certain analytics or advertising cookies as described in our Cookie Notice.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you reside, you may have rights to:

  • Access, correct or delete personal information
  • Withdraw consent
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Data portability
  • Opt-out of marketing communications
  • Opt-out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal data (California)
  • Lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority

Most rights can be exercised in-app under Settings → Privacy, or by emailing privacy@family.zone. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

8. Children’s privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Parents may add limited profile details for children to enable scheduling and household management functions. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13 without parental consent, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. Security

We implement administrative, technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, vulnerability scanning and regular security audits. No system is perfectly secure; we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and enable device-level security.

10. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. You can delete content or close your account at any time via Settings; residual data may remain in backups for up to 30 days.

11. International transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own. Where we transfer personal data from the EEA/UK to a country that has not been deemed to provide an adequate level of protection, we rely on approved safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on our website and indicate the “Last updated” date. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email. Your continued use of the Services after such changes constitutes acceptance.
